Dear club members,
As I’m sure many of you are aware, our base at the YMCA in Hirwaun has seen a few changes lately, with our room being transformed into a new office for the YMCA staff.
I’ve had a chat with the YMCA, and this move is part of a much wider renovation scheme being undertaken on the building. If you have a look a the link below, you’ll find details of their scheme on their website.
What does this mean for us? Well, there are no concerns with our continued use of the room, so the club is safe in that respect. However, there may be some disruption to our access on club nights while the work is undertaken.
At present, it seems our aerials and gear are out of the way, but this may change if roofing work is undertaken. We will have to wait and see.
A meeting is being held at the YMCA TODAY (Tuesday 5th November) to lay out the works, so I’ve been asked to call back on Wednesday to find out what disruption, if any, the work will have on our club nights.
The scheme looks fab, and I’m sure we are all happy to see this work being undertaken to provide more facilities for Hirwaun. I will post more details when I have them.
In the mean time, I look forward to seeing you on Friday. No set schedule, but I’m sure there will be the usual mix of training, projects and such going on.
