Things are really on the up at Aberdare and District ARS with a string of successful club nights and a growing number of new faces coming to our meetings.
The on going work at our venue, the Hirwaun YMCA has seen us move around inside the building a little, but finally we have been settled into a perfect environment for our club meetings with a large area including a kitchen, toilets and full ground floor disabled access and amenities. Many thanks to Neil at the YMCA for his hard work making the venue the success it is (and of course for having us).
In recent meetings we have seen a growing number of members bringing projects to show at the club, and members are actively helping each other with problems and issues. Please keep this up! In fact, bring more.
Anyone that has attended our club knows that we have a relaxed “happy to help” attitude, and this is really making the club shine. May it long continue.
If you or anyone you know many be interested in learning more about Amateur Radio, please use the “contact” button here on the website, or indeed just pop along to a meeting. Visitors are always welcome.
Our next meeting is on the 17th February 2023 and bi-weekly at 18:30 – 21:00.
Kevin MW0KXN de-bugs a QRP transceiver project constructed in Manhattan style. He later intends to condense the design and case it for use during SOTA activations.
A quick shot of our latest meeting before everyone arrived. It was a busy evening with new faces, tutoring by Phil MW0PPJ and a special visitor in the form of Ed M0TZX, the managing editor or the RSGB RadCom magazine.
